Food to Celebrate My Success

It was getting dark and I had to be home by 9 PM anyhow. When I was about to book a cab I got a call from my colleague to return back fast. I asked what the reason is. But, she remained silent. I thought that my dad might have called her and may have asked about me. I didn’t fear as I have said him I would be back by 9 only. But the fear in my colleague’s voice urged me to get the cab as fast as I could.

Meanwhile, I thought to call my dad. When I was about to dial his number a call from my friend disturbed the process. I answered hello. But, there was no one. I simply ignored and forgot to call my dad. But, few minutes back, again I got a call from the same number. I again said hello, and this time I heard my dad calling my name impatiently. I was so afraid that I kept the phone on hold and get a cab booked immediately. When I reached home I found they had planned a surprise party for me and had ordered food from top 10 fast food restaurants for my success on my job.

An Account of my first day at work

First job is something everyone is proud of as well as scared of.That is exactly what happened with me.I joined a media publication office in Delhi's NCR and was all set for my first day at work.The feeling of joining work when you are just out of college is still so fresh in my mind. The more you get closer to the joining date, the more you have questions, apprehensions and doubts. Of course there is excitement as there is the hope to find a good stability,growth and make new friends. To each their own, but for me my first day was exciting and eventful.

The moment i walked in the office,i was introduced to my boss by the H.R. She was a pretty looking woman in her late 30's; wore specks and was dressed in bright coloured Indian wear. She then introduced me to the team and gave them a short background info about me. It was a good moment to break the ice with everyone and i made most of it. Somewhere in the middle of the day, when i completed all my H.R related formalities, i got an email from my boss, to do a search on the top 10 fast food restaurants in Delhi. Taking this as an assignment, i did my best and made a list, added few references and sent it to her. Then she sent me another keyword to search on- subway locations. I did not understand this but kept doing what i am supposed to do.

Much later i realized that she just wanted to order a subway sandwich for everyone, including me, to celebrate my first day at work.My day could not have got better if not for her kind gesture and thoughtfulness. An amazing day i will never forget for a long time.

A Healthy Birthday Treat - 'Subway'

The whole essence of a birthday is to celebrate it with friends and for them to somehow get a treat. Even if your birthday was yesterday, the whole team in office will somehow catch you the next day and make sure you loosen your pocket. Did i say just the team? I was attacked by the whole office on my birthday and compelled to treat them. Although i had already planned to distribute sweets, my friends and fellow colleagues requested (rather forced) me to order lunch.I smiled and told them that this will only be possible if they let me order "healthy food" as me and couple of my friends are on diet. Not to my surprise the men and couple of foodie women were not happy with this but quickly succumbed to this decision as it was MY birthday!

I quickly went online and searched for the nearest subway locations around our office.To my surprise it was right round the corner and had a very good review on the food site i was ordering from. Healthy Food for a Value for Money Treat

Monday blues always hit me hard, especially when the weather is so hot and going out of to eat becomes a tedious task.Although i hardly indulge in having outside food, but sometimes the craving is uncontrollable, especially on a Monday afternoon at work.

Me and my colleague were really hungry last Monday when we decided to search for a fast food restaurant, from where we could order online. My friend and colleague,who is a health conscious girl wanted to eat outside food yet go for something healthy! Ironical isn't it? The freshly baked bread, scrumptious assortment of veggies and delectable variety of sauces will give anyone a hunger pang. So, we converted our Monday Blues into the day of Jealousy Red, as our friends and colleagues envied our food while we relished each bite and talked about it till the end of the day.Our Monday went really nice after the amazing lunch and this dreaded day, suddenly started to seem a little better.
